Profile of the candidate is expected to be as follows:
The candidate to be a MBA/ Chartered Accountant by educational qualification and possess a risk based qualification (For eg: FRM). The candidate is expected to have experience in risk management activities such establishing adequate risk profiles, developing & implementing risk policies & procedures for qualitative and quantitative risk analysis for relevant risk types to SVL. Real Estate experience is preferable.
The candidate is expected to have 8-10 years’ experience in risk, compliance, or other control-related functions preferably in the Indian private equity space or in a Bank/ financial services firm. Candidates could have also worked as part of legal/ consulting firms with a specific focus on risk management in the financial services sector. They should possess minimum 5 years’ of full-time experience in Risk Management (Credit or Operational Risk).
Strong knowledge of risk, risk management, risk assessments, development of risks and controls matrices, processes design and reporting activities will be a pre-requisite. In addition, the candidate should have reasonable experience in areas such as compliance, applicable laws, rules, guidelines, regulations etc
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with executive management and across business and functional lines.
Job Description
- To be able to understand the commercial context of the Company’s Business / specific transactions
- Leverage on the contextual understanding to make well-informed practical decisions regarding Risk Management.
- To possess a robust Process and Policy oriented mindset and a solution-oriented and balanced approach, always working well within the organisation’s Risk Appetite.
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders, based on expertise and credibility.
- Setup appropriate risk management framework for identifying, mitigating and managing risks to SVL from its operations keeping in mind the agreed position of SVL with the investors of the funds managed by it
- Prepare appropriate recurring/ periodic reporting on the Company’s enterprise wide risk analysis
- Prepare and assist (as needed) the CEO and other internal stakeholders such as Parent Company, Affiliate etc with ad-hoc enterprise level analysis of the Company’s operations
- Escalate identified risk issues to appropriate teams/ service functions for remediation measures
- Collaborate with IT for putting in place company-wide risk management mechanism for data security and business continuity.
- Establish protocols and processes to ensure appropriate business continuity plans are in place at all times
- Liaise with internal and statutory auditors of the Company from a risk management perspective
- Monitoring the risk environment and assesses the emerging risks through the Business Monitoring process
- Continuously assess the operations of the Company to ensure compliance with the risk management framework and appropriate policies and procedures of the Company and of the terms as contractually agreed by the Company with its investors
- Design effective key controls to address compliance: reporting & escalating control issues and any violations
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient compliance on basis of Indian applicable regulations, including RBI, SEBI, Companies Act regulations, anti- money laundering regulations and other relevant regulations.
- Establish risk metrics to enhance risk transparency for ongoing monitoring and reporting to both internal and external stakeholders
- Developing effective relationships with other stakeholders of SVL including business owners and audit functions
- Ensuring compliance with policies and guidelines for all asset management activities.
