Smt. Varsha Puradare is the Chairman of the Board of SBICAP Ventures Limited.
Smt. Varsha Purandare assumed charge as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of SBI Capital Markets Limited (the Merchant Banking arm of State Bank of India) on December 2015. Prior to this, Smt. Purandare was the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer (DMD & CCO) of the State Bank of India.

Smt. Purandare has been with the State Bank of India for over three decades, having joined the Bank as a Probationary Officer in 1982. During her long career of 33 years in the Bank, she has held many challenging assignments, both in India and abroad, which include Branch Banking, Large Credit, Forex and other assignments.

Shri Dinesh Kumar Khara is a Director on Board of SBICAP Ventures Limited.
Shri Dinesh Kumar Khara is the Managing Director (Associates & Subsidiaries), State Bank of India. Earlier he was Managing Director & CEO of SBI Funds Management Private Limited (SBIMF) for the period November 2013 to August 2016. Under his leadership the Company leaped one position up and became the 5th largest Mutual Fund in India with total AUM of about Rs. 1,30,000 crore by improving its market share to 8.8% from 7%. Prior to his assignment in SBIMF, Shri Khara was Chief General Manager – Bhopal Circle, State Bank of India – responsible for managing around 1400 branches and handling deposits and advances portfolio of approx. Rs 1.51 lac crores.

Shri Dinesh Kumar Khara did his Master’s in Business Administration from FMS New Delhi and is a post-graduate in Commerce. He is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). Shri Khara joined SBI as Probationary Officer in December 1984 and has over 32 years of experience in all facets of Commercial banking such as Retail Credit, SME/Corporate Credit, deposit mobilization, international banking operations, branch management, etc. in India and abroad. During his tenure, the Bank increased market share in its area of operation and also improved profitability of key businesses by formulating and implementing strategies for effective delivery of products and services with a clear focus on maximizing profits. As General Manager in Associates and Subsidiaries department of SBI Corporate Centre, Shri Khara worked closely with the operational and strategy issues of various Non-banking subsidiaries of SBI.

Shri Ashwani Bhatia is a Whole Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBICAP Ventures Limited.
Shri Ashwani Bhatia, Chief General Manager of State Bank of India, has been appointed as Whole Time Director of SBICAP with effect from 25th July, 2016. He is currently also the President & COO of the Company. Prior to his assignment in SBICAP, Shri Bhatia was Chief General Manager, SME Business Unit, Corporate Centre, Mumbai and before that, General Manager (Network) having responsibilities for the states of J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and the UT of Chandigarh.

He has been with State Bank of India for over three decades, having joined the Bank as a Probationary Officer in October 1985 and since then he has held various challenging assignments, both in India and abroad spanning Branch Operations, Credit, Forex and Treasury functions with budgetary responsibilities. Shri Bhatia brings along with him rich experience of over 10 years in Credit and over 16 years in various aspects of Treasury.

Shri V Mualidharan is a Director of SBICAP Ventures Limited.
Shri V.Muralidharan is the CEO and Whole-time Director of SBICAP Trustee Company Limited. Shri. Muralidharan is the CEO and Whole-time Director of SBICTCL. He is on deputation from State Bank of India. He holds the rank of General Manager in SBI.
He holds a Postgraduate Degree in Commerce and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

Mohan Harshey is an independent director on the board of SVL. He is a postgraduate in Physics from IIT Bombay and a certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.
Mohan conceptualized and led the efforts in successfully raising the Tata Capital Innovations Fund in 2009. He was Partner of the fund till he superannuated in June 2015.
He has vast experience in investments, merchant banking, SME & Corporate lending and private equity.
Mohan was the head of domestic treasury at State Bank of India (SBI). In his long stint of 31 years in SBI, he held various assignments in India and United States. During his tenure in treasury, he also started Private Equity business.

Ms Mehrotra is an independent director on the board of SVL. She is a B Com from Delhi University and has also done her graduation in Hospital Management.


Overall experience of 10 years with seven years of financial services experience across Private Equity and Investment Banking.
Previously with Edelweiss IB division (focused on the infrastructure sector); also worked with Goldman Sachs (India) Securities Pvt. Ltd., SAIL and TCS
Education: MBA from IIM (Lucknow), BE (Computer) from NIT Surat

Amit is responsible for managing environmental, social, and governance components of the fund’s investments.
Amit is a professional with more than 18 years of diversified experience across various facets of sustainability providing business solutions to industries, corporate and investors e.g. Private Equities, DFIs, Banks, NBFCs. He advised on ESG matters to many private equities, DFIs across the sectors e.g. Consumer goods, Dairy, Power utilities, logistics, RE (Wind & Solar), Healthcare, NBFC, Agri-business & Supply chain (Ware houses & Cold storage).
Amit is a M. Tech from the School of Energy, DAVV University, Indore.

Principal Investment Officer
Over 12 years of financial services experience in Asia and the UK (across PE,
Corporate Finance and Commercial Banking).
Previously worked as a Director with Standard Chartered Private Equity, India where he was focused on infrastructure investments from the bank’s balance sheet and a third party pan-Asia Infra fund.
MBA from IIM (Calcutta), Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from St Stephens, Delhi.

Ashwin has 7 years of experience in the financial services space working with Citi investment banking, Matrix Partners VC fund and TVS Infrastructure. He has been involved in many M&A and capital raising exercises in his previous stints.
Education: MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and BE (Electronics) from Pune University.
