Ms. Uma Shanmukhi Sistla, Director
Ms. Uma Shanmukhi Sistla joined SBI Capital Markets in June 2018. She started her career at State Bank of India as Probationary Officer in 1987. She gained wide experience in various areas of Banking, covering branch operations, credit management, consumer banking, SME finance, international banking, training, e-course development and investment banking. She also has exposure to Bank’s International operations, owing to a 2 year stint at SBI’s Frankfurt Branch.
She was Regional Head of Chennai Region of SBI Capital Markets Limited during 2010-2013 and has been deputed back to SBI Capital Markets Limited after a gap of 5 years, during which term, she held various positions in SBI viz DGM (SME) Ahmedabad, GM (SME) SBI, Corporate Centre and GM (Network) at Delhi.
Ms. Uma Shanmukhi Sistla is a Science faculty graduate and Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. She holds an MBA in Banking and Finance and was also a Certified Financial Planner from FPSB India.
Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sharma, Director and CEO
Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sharma joined SBICAP Ventures as the CEO and whole-time director in 2018. During his career spanning 36 years he has held prominent positions such as Branch head small, medium and large branches from 1998-2008. He was regional manager for about five years at three regional business offices viz. Aurangabad, Andheri west and Thane respectively. He was the chairman’s club member as best regional manager for Mumbai Circle in 2010. He was CFO at the Local Head Office Delhi for two years where he managed areas of operational risk management, fraud management, audit etc.
He started his career with SBI in 1982 and is a trainee officer of 1989. Mr. Sharma is a commerce graduate and a certified associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Shri. Dinesh Kumar Khara, Director
Shri. Khara is the Managing Director (Associates & Subsidiaries), State Bank of India. Earlier he was Managing Director & CEO of SBI Funds Management Private Limited (SBIMF) for the period November 2013 to August 2016. Under his leadership the Company leaped one position up and became the 5th largest Mutual Fund in India with total AUM of about Rs. 1,30,000 crore by improving its market share to 8.8% from 7%. Prior to his assignment in SBIM, Shri. Khara was Chief General Manager – Bhopal Circle, State Bank of India – responsible for managing around 1400 branches and handling deposits and advances portfolio of approx. Rs 1.51 lac crores.
Shri. Khara did his Master’s in Business Administration from FMS New Delhi and is a post-graduate in Commerce. He is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). Shri. Khara joined SBI as Probationary Officer in December 1984 and has over 32 years of experience in all facets of Commercial banking such as Retail Credit, SME/Corporate Credit, deposit mobilization, international banking operations, branch management, etc. in India and abroad. During his tenure, the Bank increased market share in its area of operation and also improved profitability of key businesses by formulating and implementing strategies for effective delivery of products and services with a clear focus on maximizing profits. As General Manager in Associates and Subsidiaries department of SBI Corporate Centre, Shri. Khara worked closely with the operational and strategy issues of various Non-banking subsidiaries of SBI.
Mr. Rajasekhar Raghavan, Director
Mr. Rajasekhar Raghavan is the Deputy General Manager of SBI and deputed as CEO & Whole Time Director of the Trustee.
He joined SBI in January, 1989 as Probationary Officer. During his career in SBI spanning almost 30 years, he has held prominent assignments including, Head – Loan Syndications, Relationship Manager for corporate clients, Executive Secretary to Managing Director, Branch Head of Medium and Large Branches etc. Mr Rajasekhar has also successfully completed important international assignments in Singapore and the Middle East within SBI. During the course of his working in SBI, he has acquired extensive knowledge in a wide area within banking viz. international banking, treasury and forex, corporate credit, retail and SME lending etc.
Mr Rajasekhar is a post-graduate in Commerce and is an Associate Member of Indian Institute of Bankers.
Shri. Mohan Harshey, Independent Director
Shri. Harshey is an independent director on the board of SVL. He is a postgraduate in Physics from IIT Bombay and a certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.
Shri. Harshey conceptualized and led the efforts in successfully raising the Tata Capital Innovations Fund in 2009. He was Partner of the fund till he superannuated in June 2015.
He has vast experience in investments, merchant banking, SME & Corporate lending and private equity.
Shri. Harshey was the head of domestic treasury at State Bank of India (SBI). In his long stint of 31 years in SBI, he held various assignments in India and United States. During his tenure in treasury, he also started Private Equity business.
Ms. Divya Mehrotra, Independent Director
Ms Mehrotra is an independent director on the board of SVL. She is a B Com from Delhi University and has also done her graduation in Hospital Management.
Dr. Harish Pattnaik, Director
Dr. Harish Pattnaik was the Executive Director and then Managing Director of GVFL Ltd from July 2009 to September 2015. GVFL Ltd, formerly known as Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd is a pioneer in venture capital industry in India and was created in 1990 at the initiative of World Bank backed by national and international institutions like CDC-UK, HDFC, ICICI and State Corporations. GVFL is the manager to some eight funds and Mr. Pattnaik was the CEO of the Golden Gujarat Growth Fund-I, the largest fund of GVFL and as such he was associated in the full life cycle of funds including fund raising, deal structuring, investment, monitoring, divestments & exit decisions. He was the director in 4 major investee companies of GVFL. Presently he is the non-Executive Chairman of Swayam Micro Services Ltd, a Section 25 Company, engaged in Microfinance in Gujarat. Dr Pattnaik has 35 years of experience in Banking having worked in India and abroad. As the CGM of SBI in Gujarat, he had played a key role in the successful merger of SBS with SBI, in 2008 which was the 1st experiment of such mergers.
Mr. Harish Pattnaik, is a postgraduate and a PhD degree holder from Delhi University in Chemistry. He is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
